Some program is auto-config after it installed to start up automatically. It is not a every useful for the user, but instead, it consume some resources from your computer that could make your computer running a bit slower, or sometime not responding, or crash, and more seriously some might be virus that start up in the background of window. For example, when you install Adobe Reader, its update service is auto configured to start, while some programs have an option to disable it from starting up auto start, some others don't. And to disable those programs, perform the following.

1. Use other applications to disable it
Some programs such as Tune up, Cclean, USB Disk Security, and some other utilities. While it could disabled auto start up problem, it could not be guarantee that it completely disabled.

2. Use System Configuration
System Configuration is a built-in utility that comes with the windows installation by default. It is use to manually stop or start services, configure boot up file for window, disable auto start up program, and for tools designed for the expert. We highly recommend you not to use any tool if you are not so sure about it.

To disable auto start up program through System Configuration utility, go to start up menu , all programs, accessories, run (or short cut, hold window key + R). Run dialog appears.

Type in msconfig and press enter to start configuration system as below

Go to startup tap, and looking for the program that you think it is not useful for you and uncheck it, (Be careful, some might be important for your window.)

After that, click Apply and then Ok. The system will prompt you to restart your computer to make change into effect, so click on restart now, the window will restart.

Now after the windows start up again, please notice if the program you configured not to auto start starts up again or not, if it does not, proceed to next step.

3. Manually remove the key value from registry

Tip: registry is very vital for your window to operate properly, therefore, if anything goes wrong with it, your computer might not even boot up. So, please always make a back up before you start to make change to with it. For how to back it up, in registry, go to file export, the whole keys, choose location to save, and click on save.

Hold window key, and press R, to start  run dialog
Type in regedit , and hit enter key, click on yes if you are prompted to,  then the registry windows will appear as below:

There are four Hav keys in the whole registry, but we will operate with only two Havs: the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
First, let's start with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and to go SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Run

Select the key, it is usually named a program. From there you can also see its path.
If you are sure about it, just press delete key on keyboard.
After all, exit the regidit. If it could not disable the auto start up program, but mostly it does, go next step.

The same for HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER, and to go SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Run

Select the key, it is usually named a program. From there you can also see its path.
If you are sure about it, just press delete key on keyboard.

After all, restart your computer, you must see that the program you disable from the above will not start up automatically.

Note: For the step 2 and 3, you might see a virus file that create itself the registry key to auto start itself. So if you see any file you don't ever see it before, please check google for it, and if it is really a virus, just press delete key.
