Hiding System Tray is useful that if we don't want to show many running programs on System Tray. In contrast, when system tray is hidden by virus, we can show it up again by checking in the registry.
Click on Start > Run > type regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER /Software /Microsoft /Windows /CurrentVersion /Policies / Explorer
Then create a Key
Name : NoTrayItemsDisplay
Type : 32-bit DWORD
Value : 1
Noticed: By doing so does not mean all programs are not running. They are still running but they are hidden.
Noticed: Hiding System Tray is not only by going to and change in the location (
HKEY_CURRENT_USER /Software /Microsoft /Windows /CurrentVersion
/Policies / Explorer), there are still other location. Therefore, if we want to search for its key, we have to find by typing "NoTrayItemsDisplay, then give its value 0 or remove it.
